Raipur: Right before Diwali, the government in Chhattisgarh is preparing to materialise the "home dream" at a low cost for the people of the state. Housing and Environment Minister Mohammad Akbar has indicated that houses built by the Housing Board in the state will be cheap. However, information about how much and when the price will be lower is not disclosed yet.
Minister Mohammad Akbar said the department has prepared a proposal in this regard, which will be presented in the cabinet in the coming days. Now the cabinet will decide how much the housing board houses should be priced. However, it is believed that the cabinet before Diwali can only seal the proposal to reduce the price of the house. The other way to look at it is the degrading condition of housing board.
In fact, due to non-sale of housing board houses, the financial condition of the board has become very bad. A large capital of the board is trapped in these houses. Officials reveal the sale of the house has been negligible for a few days and hence the burden of debt is constantly increasing on the board. Some sources also say that it is getting difficult for the board to self sustain and pay salaries to employees. In such a situation, the Housing Environment Minister Mohammad Akbar has taken the initiative to improve the financial position of the Housing Board and complete the pending project. It is believed that after this effort of the government, the old charm of the Housing Board will return.
