Additional Superintendent of Police Kiran Chavan said that the Naxalite couple Salvam Mutta alias Sukku resident Errabor and Salvam Gangi resident Chintagufa, used to work for the South Bastar Battalion No 01 of the Naxal organization. Both were working for the Naxal organization for almost 10 years. Both were involved in a dozen Naxalite incidents in Sukma and Bijapur districts. In which mainly the incident of 76 soldiers martyred in Tadmetla, Kasalpad, Pidh Mail, Bhei-Kottacheru Ambush, Burkapal Ambush, Pedagellur firing incidents. Both used to carry SLR rifles during attack.
