Raipur. In Chhattisgarh, the political turmoil between the government and opposition party BJP has intensified on the issue of number of impulse killings. Citing the report of the National Crime Records Bureau (NCRB), Chhattisgarh is number one nationwide in the case of transient impulse killings. In the year 2018, 4036 such cases have been registered. Jagdalpur’s Kodenar police station area alone has recorded about 125 such incidents, which is the highest in the state. At second position is Bilaspur, where 113 people lost their lives. The Naxalite areas of Jagdalpur are largely affected by such incidents.
Home minister raised questions on data
Home Minister Tamradhwaj Sahu has raised questions on figures. He said, “I do not think the figures that have come out are all correct. He further said that the figures of impulse murders have come from the era of BJP rule. In the first five months after the congress came into the power, we had already given the figures to the Assembly for the number of crimes committed. Chhattisgarh Police Force is working well, he added. “Twenty four hours of a day, the police force keeps the eye on criminals”, he further said.
Usendi targeted the government
BJP state president Vikram Usendi said that since the government came, the number of crime has increased. Law and order has collapsed during the nine-month tenure of the Congress government. “The murders are taking place in the lockup, somewhere in which the accountability of the police administration is questioned”. He further said that incidents of Naxalism are also increasing in Bastar region, the reason behind this is the poor attitude of government towards law and order.
