Raipur: There is no respite in rains in the Raipur and Bastar division of Chhattisgarh. Meteorological Department has issued an Orange alert, predicting heavy rains in the state. Since last night Bastar division and Raipur division have been raining heavily. Torrential rains have been raining in Bastar for two days, due to which the rivers and streams are in full swing. The contact of Jagdalpur to Bijapur Patnam Awapali has been cut off due to flooding of Indravati river. Jagdalpur has been flooded with three to four feet of water everywhere, due to which vehicles are floating in roads and colonies. The state capital Raipur also saw heavy rains since morning to late afternoon. Due to this there has been a problem of water logging in lot of areas.
According to meteorologist HP Chandra, such a strong system has been made that if it rains according to estimates, the deficiency so far will all go away. Especially in the nine districts of central Chhattisgarh that have received less than average rainfall. These include Raipur, Bilaspur, Rajnandgaon, Durg, Janjgir- chappa, Jashpur, Raigadh and Sarguja divisions.
