New Delhi : Security has been tightened in Delhi following intelligence inputs that Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM) terrorists had penetrated into the national capital right before the festive season.
Multiple raids are being conducted across Delhi after intelligence reports suggested that three-four members of the terror outfit had entered the state.
Following the input on Wednesday evening, an alert was sounded and security tightened in and around Delhi. There also has been a high alert for all the airports in the northern region in India.
In the past weeks, security agencies have received several inputs about possible terror attacks in protest against government’s move on Article 370 for Jammu and Kashmir.
Meanwhile, the Delhi Police has also increased the patrolling in several areas across the capital as the city gears up for Durga Puja, Garba and Ramleela to ensure safety and security of people, especially women.
Indian Air Force bases in and around Jammu and Kashmir and Punjab were earlier on alert after the intelligence agencies warned of a possible suicide attack by Jaish – e – Mohamed on Indian army troops.
