Raipur: A major update has emerged regarding the extensive Mahadev betting app scam in Chhattisgarh. The investigation into this scam has now been handed over to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI).
The CBI will probe 70 cases related to this scam registered in various police stations across the state. Home Minister Vijay Sharma has stated that strict action will be taken in this case. He also mentioned that efforts are being made to bring the accused located abroad back to the country as soon as possible to ensure that all those responsible for the scam face justice.
The Mahadev betting app scam is the third major case in the state that has been handed over to the CBI by the state government. Previously, the CBI has also been investigating the Birnipur and Chhattisgarh PSC scams.
The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has already revealed the names of several prominent leaders, officials, and businessmen involved in this scam. Illegal betting on cricket, badminton, tennis, football, and elections was being conducted through this app.
The network of this app expanded rapidly, with the majority of accounts being opened in Chhattisgarh. The CBI's investigation is expected to thoroughly examine all aspects of this scam and ensure that all perpetrators are brought to justice.
It remains to be seen what new revelations will come to light from the CBI's investigation and how soon the culprits will be held accountable.
