Raipur: BJP spokesperson Gaurishankar Shrivas has posted a controversial picture of state minister Kawasi lakhma here on saturday stirring various congress leaders reactions.

Congress leaders say that Srivas has not only insulted excise minister Kawasi Lakhma but he has insulted all the tribals and Bastar.  THe picture posted by Gaurishankar is a photoshopped photo of Kawasi Lakhma wearing a vest on the occasion of Karva Chauth. He has a sieve in one hand and a bottle of liquor in the other. Below the picture it is written "Mera Chand mujhe Aaya Hai Nazar, (sharabbandi)"

The post came at a time when minister Kawasi Lakhma is busy campaigning for Chitrakoot by-election in Bastar. After the controversy erupted over the post, Gaurishankar is accused of insulting tribals and trying to threaten the Congress.

The Congress, sensing the issue before the election, has put the entire BJP in the dock.  COngress party's state spokesperson Dhananjay Singh Thakur issued a statement describing it as an insult to Bastar and tribals. Thakur has said that using the Photoshop, the image of the tribal leader is being tarnished. Thakur has said that the anti-tribal character of the BJP has been exposed through social media. They have also described it as an insult to Hindu customs.

Whereas Vikas Tiwari also a Congress spokesperson accused that at the behest of Dr. Raman Singh, BJP spokesperson insulted Hindu religion and tribal. “It is known by everyone that the closest spokesperson for Dr. Raman Singh in the BJP Media Department is Gaurishankar, HE has posted a very objectionable meme on his social media account, he has also made mockery of the festival Karvachauth by showing the tribal minister Kawasi Lakhma  holding a bottle of liquor. This has insulted Hindu religion and depicted tribal society as drinkers. Many tribal communities are feeling insulted.

Sukma district president of Youth Congress Laxman Mandavi has termed it as a disgusting act of BJP. Describing the remarks as an insult to the tribal society, Mandavi said that the tribal society would not tolerate this remark, adding that the Youth Congress would register an FIR against Gaurishankar Shrivas.
