Jagdalpur: Today is the last day of campaigning for Chitrakoot assembly by-election. The publicity will stop here at 5 pm today. In this by-election, both the Congress-BJP have come to the surface with full force to publicise and create their votebanks. Many veteran leaders from Congress are taking election meetings one after the other. At the same time, BJP leaders are not behind in any way in the campaign. In the last days of campaigning, BJP has put all its strength. Former CM Raman Singh is scheduled to address four meetings here on Friday.
The first assembly of Raman Singh is held at Kilepal at 11 am, the second at 1.30 am at Tirathum, the third at 2.30 am Raikot and the fourth at 4 pm at Tokapal. For the promotion of BJP candidate Lachhuram Kashyap, all the leaders of BJP including Union Minister Renuka Singh, Leader of Opposition Dharamlav Kaushik, State President Vikram Usendi, MLA Narayan Singh Chandel are busy in campaigning.
Voting is to be held in Chitrakoot constituency on October 21. Today, on 18 October, the publicity will stop at 5 pm. After this, the candidates will go door-to-door without noise and appeal to the people to vote in their favour. A total of 6 candidates are contesting this election. Among the candidates, Rajman Benjam of Congress, Lachhuram Kashyap of BJP, Bomdaram Mandavi of Janata Congress, Independent candidate Ritika Karma, Hidmoram Mandavi of Communist Party of India, Lakeshwar Kawasi of Ambedkarite Party of India have entered the election arena.
