Raipur: Reservation in Panchayat election has been declared for the posts of presidents of all 27 district panchayats. A lottery proceeding had taken place at New Circuit House, Civil Lines in the capital. Reservation has been decided through this lottery system where 13 seats were declared for the Scheduled Tribes out of 27 districts, 3 are reserved for Scheduled Castes, 7 are reserved for Other Backward Classes. 4 Districts were declared unreserved, 50% of all reservation has been reserved for women.

Rajnandgaon, Mahasamund, Durg and Bemetara - OBC Women's Reserve
Districts reserved for ST
Dantewada, Sukma, Bijapur, Narayanpur, Kanker, Kondagaon, Bastar, Surajpur, Surguja, Balrampur, Korea, Korba and JS Shapur districts have been reserved for STs.
Korea, Jashpur, Narayanpur, Dantewada, Balrampur, Korba, Surguja district is reserved for women.
3 districts reserved for SC.
In the reservation process for district panchayats, 3 zilla panchayats have been reserved for scheduled castes. In which Balod, Kabirdham, Dhamtari have been reserved for SC.

Raipur, Bilaspur, Mungeli, Gariaband districts have been unreserved for the post of president in district panchayats.Raipur and Mungeli district is reserved for women.
