Raipur: The Government of Chhattisgarh has promised the gift of Diwali to the government servants of the state. Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel has approved the payment of the second installment of arrears of 7th pay scale payable in the year 2019 before Diwali. About 3 lakh 50 thousand government servants of the state will be benefited by this decision of the state government and the state government will bear an additional financial burden of Rs 550 crore.
Officials of the Finance Department said that the benefits of the seventh pay scale are being paid for January 1, 2016 to the employees of the state government. Under the 7th pay scale, the state government has decided to pay arrears for a total of 18 months from January 2016 to June 2017 in 6 equal installments. The first installment has been paid in August 2018 and the state government has approved the payment of arrears amount due in 2019.
