Delhi: Former Team India skipper Virat Kohli will be part of Asia cup, which is to be held in August news agency PTI reported. Swashbuckling batsman Virat is on a break after the tour of England. According to agency Team India also has to participate in the Asia Cup at the end of this month. It is being also felt that Virat Kohli must be a part of the team on the Zimbabwe tour before this big tournament, but things did not turn up on the expected lines, BCCI sources say.
Virat Kohli has been struggling to keep his score board constant. He was fared poorly in the recent England tour. He can now be seen playing directly in the Asia Cup. PTI has been quoted in media reports that Kohli has had a discussion with the Indian selectors about his plan. He will be available for almost all series after the Asia Cup 2022.
Virat Kohli's poor performance remains a headache for BCCI. Team India has to play big tournaments like Asia Cup and World Cup, in such a demanding situation it is very important for the team make a comeback with Virat leading the juggernaut. As PTI quoted a BCCI source as saying. "Virat Kohli has informed the Indian selectors about his availability. He will be available for the Asia Cup", said the source.
Team India's selectors had made up their mind to send Virat Kohli to the Zimbabwe series to practice and regain his batting form. The selectors wanted him to take part in the One Day International series against Zimbabwe in the month of August after a break of one month, so that he could return to his original form. Kohli had last played against Zimbabwe in the 2015 World Cup.
