Dantewada: The Naxalites are again in the process of executing a major incident like the Jhiram ghati scandal, as per the sources. The entire police department has been stirred by the information received by the intelligence. Hundreds of soldiers have been sent to the spot to thwart the nefarious activities of the Naxalites in Dantewada. Today morning itself Naxalites had an encounter with a small contingent of soldiers. In the encounter, the soldiers have killed a naxal on whom the price money was Rs. 8 lakh. The deceased was identified as Deva the deputy commander of the Naxalite 26 number platoon. However, more than one and a half dozen police parties are still camping inside the forest.
According to Dantewada SP Abhishek Pallava, the force had received information that Naxalites are gathering people from Balangir and Kotekalyan areas to carry out a major crime scene like Jhiram ghati on Jagdalpur Sukma Road. Apart from this, information was received by police that the Naxalites are entering Potavi and Bhusaras to make an entry in Kotkalyan. On this information, 400 soldiers were sent in groups of 15-20 late night on Monday.
According to the SP, at 6:30 on Tuesday morning, an assistant constable had a heart attack, while they were busy in resuscitating, the naxalite - police encounter began at about seven thirty in the morning. For almost an hour on both sides, the bullet kept going. There were only 20 people in the police troop hence they could not siege the Naxalites. However, a Naxalite named Deva Muchaki was killed.
According to SP Abhishek Pallava, traces of blood have been found at many places along the way. Due to which it is believed that many more Naxalites may have been killed or injured. There are still some teams inside. According to the SP, 30 to 40 Naxalites were reported to be gathered in that area.
