Raipur : At the state-level 'Mahapanchayat' program held today, Union Minister of State for Panchayati Raj Kapil Moreshwar Patil and Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Sharma felicitated the Gram Panchayats under nine different themes and categories for their significant contribution in the localization of Sustainable Development Goals. The Ministry of Panchayati Raj has taken a comprehensive approach and localized the Sustainable Development Goals in form of nine resolutions to ensure participation of all the communities, thereby leading towards the holistic development of Gram Panchayats.
Under Theme-1, Nagam Gram Panchayat was feliciatated as ‘Poverty-Free Gram Panchayat With Improved Livelihood
Under Theme-1, Gram Panchayat Nagam, Zila Panchayat Lundra, District-Surguja was honored for becoming the poverty-free Gram Panchayat with improved livelihood. Through the tireless efforts such as employment generation under MNREGA, empowerment of women through self-help groups and effective measures for eradicating poverty, Gram Panchayat Nagam has created livelihood and employment opportunities for all.
Under Theme-2, Gram Panchayat Sankara was honored as ‘Healthy Gram Panchayat’
Under Theme-2, Gram Panchayat Sankara, Zila Panchayat Nagari, District-Dhamtari was felicitated as ‘Healthy Gram Panchayat. This panchayat has significantly improved the quality of healthcare services to ensure sound health and well-being of the residents.
Under Theme-3, Gram Panchayat Nilja was felicitated as ‘Child-friendly Gram Panchayat’
Gram Panchayat Nilja, Zila Panchayat-Dharsiwa, District-Raipur has been at the forefront in clearly understanding and resolving all the major issues related to children in its Gram Panchayat areas, for which it has been felicitated as the ‘Child-friendly Gram Panchayat’ under theme-3.
Under Theme-4, Gram Panchayat Baghnadi honored for their works in ensuring regular water-supply and conservation
With the consolidated efforts to provide regular water-supply and ensure water-conservation, Gram Panchayat Baghnadi, Zila Panchayat Dongargarh, District Rajnandgaon has become a water-rich Gram Panchayat, for which it has been felicitated under Theme-04.
Under Theme-5, Gram Panchayat Jonkbala felicitated as ‘Clean and Green Gram Panchayat’

From supporting people in their efforts to overcome poverty, to reducing inequality, to providing opportunity of capacity building, while managing the economic and social problems such as unemployment, social exclusion, illness, disability and old age, Gram Panchayat Pikripara, Zila Panchayat- Gurur, District Balod has taken a holistic approach to ensure inclusive development. Therefore, Gram Panchayat was honored as ‘Socially-Safe Gram Panchayat’ under theme-7.
Under Theme-8, Gram Panchayat Khadgwankala felicitated as ‘Good Governance Gram Panchayat’
Good governance includes providing benefits of various government schemes and services to the people of Gram Panchayat, ensuring transparency and accountability in the administration, while encouraging public cooperation and participation.
Gram Panchayat Kharagwankala, District Panchayat-Pratappur, District-Surajpur has set an example of good governance by implementing the vision of former Prime Minister Late Atal Bihari Vajpayee, for which it has been honored as ‘Good Governance Gram Panchayat’ under Theme-08.

Panchayats in rural areas have the responsibility to promote gender equality so that women and girls are not deprived of the opportunities they deserve. It is the responsibility of Panchayats to ensure participation of women and girls in political, economic and social arena. Raipur : In consonance with Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi’s Guarantee, the Chhattisgarh Government, under the leadership of Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai, will launch the ambitious Mahtari Vandan Yojana within 100 days of government formation. Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi will grace the event through video conferencing on Sunday. Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai will preside over the event at the Science College ground in Raipur.
They will disburse the first installment of the Mahtari Vandan Yojana into the accounts of beneficiaries across 146 development blocks, district headquarters, and urban bodies through Direct Benefit Transfer(DBT). Health Minister Shri Shyam Bihari Jaiswal, Finance Minister Shri OP Choudhary, and Minister of Women and Child Development Department Smt. Laxmi Rajwade provided detailed information regarding the scheme's inauguration.
Minister of Women and Child Development Department, Smt Laxmi Rajwade, while providing information in this regard, stated that on March 10, the state government will disburse the first installment of the Mahtari Vandan Yojana to approximately 70 lakh married women. Women in the state show considerable enthusiasm regarding this scheme. They will now be able to fulfil their small needs easily without asking anyone for help. They stated that the state government is going to fulfil another guarantee of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi.
Finance Minister Shri OP Choudhary, while providing information about the scheme, stated that Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai's government is consistently working for the upliftment of farmers, the poor, women, and youth. The state government will launch the ambitious Mahtari Vandan Yojana within 100 days of government formation. He further stated that the Chhattisgarh Government under Shri Vishnu Deo Sai is dedicated to the welfare of the people of the state. He stated that Prime Minister Shri Modi will virtually launch Mahtari Vandan Yojana at 2 pm on March 10 and will transfer the first installment to beneficiaries.
*Empowering Women: The Mahtari Vandan Scheme's Primary Objective*
It is noteworthy that the state government is launching the Mahtari Vandan Yojana in the state for the empowerment and prosperity of women. The scheme aims to improve the health and nutrition levels of women in the state, eliminate gender bias and inequality, provide them with a dignified position, promote positive thinking, and enhance economic self-reliance and empowerment among women. Under this scheme, eligible married women will receive a monthly amount of Rs. 1000 into their bank accounts through DBT.

Under the scheme, a total of more than 68,836 user IDs were created for receiving offline applications and uploading them, which is a record in itself. The process of receiving offline applications from applicants started on February 5, 2024, and by February 20, 2024, all 70 lakh applications were uploaded online within a record period of 15 days. On March 10, Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi will transfer a sum of Rs. 655.57 crore through DBT to 70 lakh 12 thousand 800 eligible applicants in the first phase of the scheme.
Raipur : Chhattisgarh Government has made the movie "Article 370" tax-free in the state. Chief Minister announced the decision when he arrived at Magneto Mall to watch the movie. He was accompanied by his wife, Smt Kaushalya Sai, Agriculture Minister Shri Ramvichar Netam and Forest Minister Shri Kedar Kashyap.
Chief Minister praised the movie "Article 370" and urged everyone to watch it. He stated that the idea of revoking Article 370 from Jammu and Kashmir was very difficult, and it was believed that its removal would bring unrest in the valley. However, with the firm determination and wisdom of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi and Home Minister Shri Amit Shah, Article 370 was revoked from Jammu and Kashmir. This not only established peace and tranquilly in the valley but also created an atmosphere of freedom and peace.
Chief Minister stated, “Our ideology revolves around "One nation, one constitution, one emblem". Article 370 for Jammu and Kashmir was incompatible with this fundamental ideology. Our leaders have opposed Article 370 since independence. We had promised to remove Article 370, and under the leadership of our Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi, this promise was fulfilled. Modi ji has taken a milestone decision for the unity of India”.
Chief Minister shared that the movie portrayed the situation in Kashmir very well and highlighted how Article 370 had hindered the development in Kashmir. The movie depicts the extent of the struggle the leaders underwent to abolish it.
