Raipur: Amidst reports of adulterations in the mid-day meal in many parts of the country, CM Bhupesh Baghel has instructed the collectors to have the mid-day meal with the students. The CM has issued this directive to keep check on the quality of midday meal.
CM Bhupesh Baghel has written a letter to all the collectors of the state directing them to provide all facilities in residential schools, hostels and ashrams. He has asked the District Education Officers to prepare checklists for inspection of all educational residential complexes and collectors have to also conduct surprise inspections themselves. In the letter written to the collectors, the Chief Minister has said that he will conduct a surprise inspection of the ashrams and hostels in the coming time. They will also have a meal with the students to check the quality of food there.
The Chief Minister has said that a large number of students are studying in government ashrams, hostels and other residential schools. Adequate allocation is given by the government to provide necessary facilities in these premises. It has been reported from many places that the requisite attention is not being given to providing and maintaining common facilities in these premises. The Chief Minister has asked the collectors to be sensitive to the students residing in the government campuses and take special care to provide them all the facilities required for them, considering them as members of their family.
The Chief Minister has given instructions to ensure cleanliness, paint, children's clothes, mattresses, pillows, bed sheets, tables, chairs, beds, lighting, books, computers, inverters, first aid, television and quality food in hostels. He has asked the collectors to make dignified arrangements for students to stay in residential schools so that they can get a conducive learning environment and become good citizens.
