Governor Anusuiya Uikey visits the kidney troubled village Supebeda, says a team of experts will soon come from Delhi to help
Raipur: After the kidney troubled village of Supebeda hit headlines almost regularly , Governor Anusuiya Uikey alongwith Health Minister TS Singhdev reached Supebeda on Tuesday to inquire about the causes and conditions of kidney disease. She has met kidney victims and villagers Assuring villagers UIkey said that the government understand their pain.
Talking about the causes behind the kidney diseases she said, " I have also come to find out why the problem that has been going on for 10 years now has not been fixed till now . What is the reason that the disease is not ending?".
She further said, there is heavy metal in the water here and there was a blast on the diamond mine due to which water has been contaminated.
THe experts have been called from Delhi and I have spoken to the Health Minister.The Governor praised Health Minister TS Singhdev and said, Health Minister is very sensitive and ready to help this village. The government is carrying out its responsibility, those who are sitting at the end of the government (administrative officer employees) need to implement it fast.
The Governor said this when the villagers constantly told her the problems of road, electricity, water etc . HEalth minister TS Singhdev said that the problems mentioned have been sorted. Approvals have also been received. Some tenders are under process and some important plans have been sent to the Finance Department.
Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel on Saturday said he was “quite surprise” over Governor Anusuiya Uikey’s comment on renal complicacies leading to death in Supebeda.
“My minister and I have highest concern (over the situation). If Governor wants to visit (Supebeda), she is most welcome. In a way it will help to draw the attention of central government towards the problem,” he said while answering to a query.
Governor on Friday had raised concern over deaths due to renal failure in Supebeda (Gariaband district) and announced that she would visit the place even by road if flight was not provided on October 22.
On October 2, health minister had visited Supebeda after a death was reported. All efforts are being made to know the actual reason for kidney diseases in Supebeda, the Chief Minister said.
